Movie editor
Build long videos shot by shot on a multi-track timeline, with the same characters in every scene.
How it works
Video models render a few seconds at a time. The movie editor lets you plan a longer film on a timeline and fill it one shot at a time, then play the whole thing back.
- Select a portion
- Describe the shot
- Pick the cast
- Render
- Preview
Working on the timeline
| Action | Result |
|---|
| Drag across an empty part of a track | Selects that portion and opens the New shot form. |
| Click an empty part | Selects 5 seconds from that point. |
| Drag the selection | Moves it along the track or to another track. |
| Drag a shot | Moves it sideways, or up and down to another track where it fits. |
| Drag a clip edge | Trims an image or text clip. |
| Click or drag the ruler | Moves the playhead. |
Tracks
Add as many tracks as you need. Higher tracks are drawn on top, so a text track above a video track shows as a title over the shot. Tracks can be renamed, hidden, locked, reordered with the arrows, or deleted.
Images and text
- Image adds a still from your library or your device, with fit and a gentle motion such as a slow zoom.
- Text adds titles, captions or lower thirds, with presets, colours, size, position and a fade.
- If no track has room at the playhead, a new track is added on top automatically.
Consistent characters
Create your cast once. Each character has a locked description of their appearance, wardrobe and voice, and an optional reference image. Pick who is in each shot, and their description is added to the prompt so they look the same from scene to scene.

Saving
Projects are saved in this browser. Movie projects are stored on this device for now. Rendered shots are ordinary videos, so they are always safe in your Library, even if a project is deleted.
